Course Description

The Katy Area Vehicle Extrication and Rescue School is held every November at Katy, Texas. The area school covers the requirements for Vehicle Rescuer Level I and Level II Based on NFPA 1670. Students may enroll in either Level I or Level II.

Prerequisites

To enroll in Level II students must provide proof of completing Level I.

Course Completion Requirements

Course Attire

Vehicle extrication PPE to include steel-toed footwear and eye protection other than a fire helmet faceshield (safety glasses).

Participant Must Provide

A photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.

Attendance Requirements

This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements.

Suggested Audience

All emergency and crisis response personnel to include tow truck drivers.

Continuing Education And Professional Credits

  • State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas (SFFMA)
  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP)
