Course Description

The North Texas Fire Marshal’s Conference is held each January in Richardson, Texas and is sponsored by the North Texas Fire Investigator’s Association, Fire Prevention Association of North Texas, Texas Fire Marshal’s Office, Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service.  The Conference is aimed at the continuing education requirements of Fire Investigators, Fire Marshals, Law Enforcement, Public Education, and Fire and Emergency Responders.  Guest instructors from multiple disciplines are brought in to cover topics in three categories: Inspections, Investigations and Public Education.

Course Completion Requirements

Participant Must Provide

  • a photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.

Attendance Requirements

This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:

  • Use of Public Education to increase awareness among the civilian populace
  • Post-Blast investigations
  • Fire Scene Photography
  • Report Writing
  • Courtroom Preparation and Demeanor
