Course Description

The Electric Power Hot Line Training – Three Phase Systems course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform distribution work from an insulated aerial device using rubber gloving, a rubber protective cover-up, and insulated hot line tools on three-phase circuits. During the course, students utilize the TEEX Hot Line training field to perform tasks while elevated almost 40 feet under simulated energized conditions. At the completion of this course, participants are able to select methods and procedures to perform assigned duties on energized circuits.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Student Must Provide

Rubber gloves (Class 2)
Rubber sleeves (Class 2)
Hard hat
Safety glasses
Hand tools
Work boots
Long-sleeved shirt

To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.

Suggested Audience

This course is designed for any personnel working on an energized overhead distribution system up to and including 34.5 kV.
