Course Description
The Aerial Lift Rescue for First Responders course instructs participants in the procedures to remove an injured victim from an aerial bucket truck. During the delivery of the course, participants will discuss the procedures and hazards associated with the removal of an injured victim from an aerial lift to include: performing the pre-rescue assessments; locating and operating the lower controls for proper positioning for victim removal; hazards associated with operation in proximity to electrical power lines as well the recommended PPE to perform the procedure. Upon successful completion of this course, participants have the ability to perform victim rescue/removal from various types of aerial lift trucks.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
In order to fully participate in all field work exercises, students will need the following equipment: hard hat, safety glasses, work boots or hard soled shoes, gloves, and long sleeve shirts.
Attendance Requirements
To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.
Recommended
Participants should have the ability to work at heights, climb on vehicles using rigid or fixed stairs, and move loads using rope blocks.
