Course Description
The Advanced Accident (Incident) Investigation course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to thoroughly investigate work-related accidents and injuries. In addition to the proper conduct of accident investigations, participants will be guided through exercises designed to help calculate the cost of an accident, preparation, and analysis of accident reports, eyewitness interviewing techniques, systems for cause analysis, proper closeout of investigations, and related legal issues.
Prerequisites
TEEX Certification/Licensing Requirement
Participants must provide evidence of completion of the Introduction to Accident [Incident] Investigation (OSH755) course or a state sponsored equivalent within the past seven years prior to registering for this course.
This prerequisite may be accomplished by uploading a copy of the documents during registration using the TEEX Student Portal. Once received and approved, the participant will be notified by email they have met all prerequisites and have been added to the class roster. All documentation is due at least 14 business days prior to the start of class.
Attendance Requirements
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 100% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed.
