This is the IFSTA Essentials of Fire Fighting lesson covering fire department organization. This lesson describes the fire service mission, organization, and regulations. This lesson also covers firefighter roles and skills, as well as firefighter safety, health, and wellness.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Level 4 as described in the TEEX Student Safety Manual. PPE, including reflective safety vet for the skills portion of the class.
To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.
Essentials of Fire Fighting, Seventh Edition recommended.
