Course Description
Firefighter Type 1, S-131 (includes S133/S134), is a course
designed to meet the training needs of the Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1). This
course is designed to be interactive in nature. It contains several exercises
designed to facilitate group and class discussion. The course will Identify
position responsibilities and demonstrate the ability to apply principles of
Operational Leadership found in the Incident Response Pocket Guide (IRPG). The
students will describe how to incorporate and maintain open lines of
communication with appropriate personnel. As well as Identify Look Up, Down and
Around indicators, and demonstrate the ability to apply the components of
Lookouts, Communications, Escape Routes, and Safety Zones (LCES). Students will
apply wildland tactical decision-making procedures.

S-130/S-190 NWCG
Wildland Firefighter 2

To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.
