Course Description

Female officer shooting shotgun on gun rangeThe Peace Officer Reactivation Physical Skills Assessment course is designed to evaluate or assess previously trained and existing peace officer skills for the purpose of determining a participant’s suitability to return to active duty in Texas law enforcement after a period of separation from active duty or appointment as a peace officer. This course differs from other TCOLE curricula because it is an assessment course as opposed to a traditional training course. It is not meant to train or re-train a person for such reentry. To successfully complete the assessment, participants must pass each of the individual skill topic areas. Failure in one or more of the topic areas means the participant does not pass the overall assessment and will not be reported to TCOLE.

Upon registering for the course, participants will receive the participant manual to prepare for the tested skills.

This course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements for Texas Peace Officer Reactivation Physical Skills Assessment course #7878.

Note: Prior to registering, determine which reactivation category you fall under and what additional required training you may need. Please refer to the TCOLE Peace Officer Reactivation Packet document to determine if you are required to take TCOLE 1018. If you are required to take TCOLE 1018, TEEX offers this course as an online offering with TPA102: Texas Supplemental Peace Officer.
