About the Public Safety Wellness Program

Law enforcement officers and firefighters are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The TEEX Public Safety Wellness Program is working to change this by expanding access to counseling, critical incident response, and training for public safety professionals across Texas.

Originally launched through an earmark secured by Congressman Troy Nehls, the program continues to grow as a statewide system of support promoting wellness and saving lives.
