Course Description

Firefighters must understand the critical decision-making processes that impact incident scene operations.  This understanding can help a firefighter function more effectively within the incident command structure. This course offers 4 CE hours covering incident scene operations.  This course offers an interactive practice session and a module quiz based off IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting 7th edition.  This course satisfies: NFPA 1001 5.1.1, 5.1.2, 5.2.1, 5.2.2, 5.3.2

Students are expected to use the Essentials of Firefighting, 7th Edition Manual

Attendance Requirements

To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:

  • 1. Explain the process of initiating incident operations.
  • 2. Explain the process of transferring Command.
  • 3. Describe the duties of a unit or team leader during fireground operations.
  • 4. Explain the use of post incident reports.
