Course Description
This online course is a required course established as a legislative mandate during the 77th Regular Session by Senate Bill 77R-SB563. Participants will be able to identify the requirements for asset forfeiture, the philosophy behind forfeiture, and the definitions of contraband in the framework of pre-seizure planning, the search and seizure itself, and post-seizure procedures.
This course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements Asset Forfeiture Course #3255.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
- The mandatory completion/duration period for this eCourse is 45 days from the registration date.
- To complete this course, you are required to have a computer with internet access.

To successfully complete this online course, you should have access to a computer with the following system requirements:

Attendance Requirements
To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.
Participants in a TCOLE credit course must complete the class in its entirety to receive TCOLE credit.
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Requirements established by Chapter 1701 Occupations Code
- Issues in pre-seizure planning, methods of search and seizure, and post-seizure procedures
- Defenses to forfeiture, forfeiture proceedings, and considerations in these cases
- Proceeds from seizures
