Course Description

The Introduction to Motor Grader Operator course provides an opportunity to combine motor grader operation skills with roadway maintenance and construction knowledge. This course introduces operators to concepts surrounding proper operation of a motor grader. Students are provided guidance on proper grading techniques specific to the construction and maintenance of roadways, particularly rural cross-sections with road-side ditches. In addition to the eight hours of classroom instruction, operators are provided with opportunities for field exercises using scenarios to hone operational best practices.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

Participant Must Provide

  • Hard hat
  • Steel-toed footwear
  • Gloves
  • Visibility safety vest
  • A photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.

Attendance Requirements

Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed
