Course Description

judge's gavel on top of moneyThis course is a required course established as a legislative mandate during the 77th Regular Session by Senate Bill 77R-SB563. Participants will be able to identify the requirements for asset forfeiture, the philosophy behind forfeiture, and the definitions of contraband in the framework of pre-seizure planning, the search and seizure itself, and post-seizure procedures.

This course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements Asset Forfeiture Course #3255.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

  • The mandatory completion/duration period for this eCourse is 45 days from the registration date.
  • To complete this course, you are required to have a computer with internet access.

  • Defenses to forfeiture, forfeiture proceedings, and considerations in these cases
