Course Description
The OSHA 10-hour Outreach Training for the Construction Industry course, delivered in Spanish, provides students with a basic safety and health knowledge to include OSHA policies, procedures, and standards. Special emphasis is placed on those areas that are most hazardous. Upon completion of this course, a wallet card will be issued certifying that the student has completed 10 hours of OSHA training for Construction Industry.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Participant Must Provide
- a photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.
Attendance Requirements
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Discuss the OSHA outreach training program.
- Describe how OSHA helps workers.
- Identify the top four construction hazards.
- Explain methods for preventing falls.
- Describe fall protection in residential construction.
- Explain how to work safely with electricity.
- Describe caught-in or between hazards.
- Recognize struck-by hazards.
- Explain proper personal protective equipment.
- Describe the dangers of occupational noise exposure.
- Discuss the hazard communication standard.
- Recognize hazardous materials.
- Explain how to protect workers from the effects of heat.
- Explain how to protect workers from the effects of cold.
- Describe crane and derrick safety.
- Describe safe use of aerial lifts.
- Discuss safe trenching and excavation methods.
- Recognize safe methods of demolition and cleanup.
- Recognize scaffold safety.
- Describe how to reduce falls in construction.
- Recognize how to use hand and power tools safely.
- Identify work zone traffic safety.
- Explain the hazards of distracted driving.
- Discuss methods for preventing workplace violence.
