Construction Workers: OSHA 10-HOUR Marathon trains 791 in Houston

UPDATE: The OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Marathon successfully trained 791 people, who received their 10-Hour Construction Card on June 16. The event was made possible with the help of 36 trainers and 70 volunteers, including staff from Aldine Senior High School.

Need a 10-Hour OSHA card for work? On Saturday, June 16, you have an opportunity to earn your card during the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Marathon at Aldine Senior High School, 11101 Airline Drive, Houston, Texas. Over 700 people are expected to earn the 10-Hour Construction card by the end of the day. The OSHA outreach instructors volunteer their time, and training is offered in both Spanish and English.

Covering various hazards, personal protective equipment and OSHA standards, the training is aimed at construction workers, construction foremen, superintendents and project managers.

The daylong event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes lunch. The registration fee is $25, which includes the cost of your 10-hour OSHA card. The OSHA 10-Hour Marathon is sponsored by the Hispanic Contractors Association de Tejas and in partnership with the Texas Engineering Extension Service TEEX), a member of The Texas A&M University System.
