Public invited to firefighting demonstration on July 23 at Brayton Fire Field

COLLEGE STATION – The public is invited to a firefighting demonstration on Wednesday, July 23, sponsored by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) in conjunction with its Municipal Fire Training School at the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station. There is no admission charge.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and a children’s fire-awareness class begins at 7:00 p.m. Following the awareness class, TEEX instructors will explain and demonstrate techniques used to extinguish fires on several full-scale, live-fire training props.

This year’s school, held July 20-25, is TEEX’s 85th Municipal Fire Training School, and the largest school of its kind in the world. More than 2,500 firefighters and guest instructors are expected to participate. The school is hosted by TEEX in conjunction with the State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas.
