Morris tapped to lead Public Safety & Security Division

Elizabeth Morris; TEEX COLLEGE STATION – Elizabeth Morris has been tapped to serve as the Division Director of the Public Safety and Security Division. Morris joined the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) in 2005, and most recently served as HazMat Training Manager for the Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI).

In the announcement, Agency Director Gary Sera praised her “wealth of experience in both public safety and security and emergency response.” She is both a licensed law enforcement officer and sniper instructor as well as a certified firefighter and NFPA Fire Instructor. Before joining the ESTI instructional team, she was as an adjunct law enforcement instructor for TEEX.

Morris currently serves as a Reserve Deputy with the Burleson County Sheriff’s Department. Her previous experience includes more than five years as an undercover narcotics officer and a clandestine drug lab certified officer. She developed a Clandestine Drug Lab course for TEEX in 2011.

Morris holds a Ph.D. in Educational Human Resource Development, as well as MBA and bachelor’s degrees from Texas A&M University.
