GREX – Georgetown Rail Equipment Co. Contributes $125,000 to Brayton Fire Training Field

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – GREX — Georgetown Rail Equipment Co. has committed $125,000 over five years to support future expansion at the Brayton Fire Training Field. This will allow the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) to further enhance its training of first responders in the protection of critical infrastructure.

This effort is part of a five-year, $10 million expansion plan. In the past three years, Brayton Fire Training Field has grown from 120 to 296 acres, updated existing training infrastructure and added additional training props to better meet the needs of a wide range of clients from around the world.

“This donation provides an exceptional opportunity to enhance the variety of real-world training provided by TEEX instructors,” said Robert Moore, Division Director of TEEX’s Emergency Services Training Institute and Chief of the Brayton Fire Training Field. “This multi-year donation will allow us to expand our training program and facilities, which benefits all of the firefighters who come here for our comprehensive, hands-on emergency response training and the communities they serve.”

Operated by TEEX, the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station, Texas, is one of the world’s largest live-fire training facilities and includes some of the most realistic and complex fire training simulations in the world.
