International Training Providers in China & Germany designated Cooperative Learning Centers

COLLEGE STATION – New Cooperative Learning Centers (CLCs) in China and Germany are joining the list of companies approved by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) to provide emergency response training to local responders and industrial clients within their respective countries.

The newest CLCs are Training Base in Weeze, Germany, and Tongtai Fire & Security in Shanghai, China. “Both of these companies bring a wealth of training knowledge and experience to our potential customers in their respective countries, which will extend the TEEX brand further around the globe,” said International Emergency Response Training Director Brian Freeman.

These new centers bring the total number of TEEX CLC international partners to 10, which expands the reach of emergency response training to thousands of responders worldwide. TEEX now has CLCs in countries on five continents: the U.S., Australia, Malaysia, China, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Germany. See the full list.

“We are looking forward to an even busier 2016 and increasing the TEEX brand across the world,” Freeman said. The CLC arrangement allows TEEX to promote the Annual Fire Training Schools held in College Station as well as advanced classes, which expand the knowledge and ultimate safety of responders worldwide.

All CLC sites are visited annually, and they must meet or exceed a vigorous inspection process in order to become a TEEX CLC, or to enable them to continue another year. Three companies were dropped this year for not meeting TEEX standards or policies, he added.

The inspection documents can run into many hundreds of pages and can take more than a week to complete upon returning to College Station, Freeman said. “To save time and paper, Chris Framsted has developed a new digital inspection document, which can be completed during the visit in the country,” he added, “and this has proved to be very successful during recent visits.”

Assisting Freeman with 2015 CLC inspections were Chris Framsted, Gordon Lohmeyer, Dennis St. John, Bobby Jo Evanicky and Ulises Penalver.
