All of the state’s coordinated search and rescue assets — including those of College Station-based Texas Task Force 1 and Dallas-based Texas Task Force 2 — have assisted local cities and counties in dealing with more than 300 calls for rescue or assistance.

The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) continues to coordinate the state’s search and rescue activities. Damage and needs assessments are also being performed throughout the highest-impacted Rio Grande Valley communities, including the colonias.

Aiding these assessments is the U.S. Coast Guard, which is providing data via flyover imagery to local officials and search and rescue teams on the ground. Additionally, TX-TF1 helicopter rescue specialists are attached to Texas Military Forces UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters and are standing by to perform rescues as required.

All search and rescue operations will continue as requested.
