2009 Texas Meter School starts Oct. 26

More than 150 metering personnel from the electric power industry are expected to attend the 2009 Southwest Electrical Metering Association’s (SWEMA) Texas Meter School the week of Oct. 26-30 at the Texas A&M Riverside Campus in Bryan. Attendees will select from one of five, 32-hour electrical metering classes conducted by TEEX’s Infrastructure Training & Safety Institute. The goal is to save consumers money through training in effective and efficient metering technology and techniques.

Attendees learn the value of metering accuracy as well as how to fine-tune electrical networks to provide consumers the proper balance of power with as little waste as possible. Students also learn how to educate consumers on ways they can reduce their own costs. The school, which includes a vendor show, has been held for more than 70 years.
