The TEEX School Bus Transportation Program trains qualified school district drivers to serve as behind-the-wheel instructors. Candidate instructors demonstrate driver proficiency, receive best practices through instructor-led presentations, and perform practice teaching assignments. Instructors successfully completing the course receive a Texas Department of Public Safety School Bus Transportation instructor manual and presentation media designed to help guide all classroom portions of the course and driver evaluation documentation. Experienced drivers also have the option for online training through the Accident Avoidance for School Bus Drivers course.
