Texas Task Force 1 has been activated by the Texas Division of Emergency Management at the request of FEMA to assist local, State and Federal responders in Arkansas after strong tornadoes struck a wide area near Little Rock on April 27. Developed by General Dynamics, the technology was repurposed for search and rescue operations, and TX-TF1 first used it during its deployment to Moore, OK, in 2013.
The TEEX Paramedic Program has been awarded full accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), a national accrediting agency for 24 health science professions. The 1,033-hour program is approved for CEUs by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), and is eligible for college credit through the American Council on Education (ACE).
