Responders from 3 states complete swiftwater rescue training
NEW BRAUNFELS – Emergency response personnel from New York, Oklahoma and Texas recently completed the Swiftwater Rescue I and II course in New Braunfels.
Participants learned about river dynamics, swiftwater hydrology and personal safety, and practiced both shore-based and water rescue operations in both day and night scenarios. The training was conducted Feb. 8-11 in New Braunfels on the Guadalupe and Comal rivers. Instructors were Keith Brown, Warren “Country” Weidler and Justin Todd.
