TEEX is offering its 5th Cyber Innovation Camp for students entering the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade. Teens will learn programming, cybersecurity, electronics and sensors, engineering design, and more, and receive their own Raspberry Pi computer.

Brazos County Law Enforcement officials prepare to manage active shooter incident

Fifty-four law enforcement officers, dispatchers and other police officials recently completed a three-day training program on “Active Shooter Incident Management” conducted by TEEX and Texas State University Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT).

Texas A&M Task Force 1 and 2 deployed for severe weather, potential flooding

The Texas Division of Emergency Management has deployed Texas A&M Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) water rescue squads and Helicopter Search and Rescue Technicians along with TX-TF2 Urban Search and Rescue team to assist local jurisdictions impacted by the severe weather and flooding occurring across the state.

Online training gives students a career path after high school

The Houston Independent School District has been preparing high school students for entry-level jobs in security services, corrections, law enforcement and forensics using online training provided by TEEX. Since 2009, more than 500 students enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs have participated.

Fighting a fire will help A&M students ‘smoke’ those final exams

Students enrolled in ‘Fire Protection Engineering Concepts for Industrial Facilities’ at Texas A&M University get a chance to be a firefighter for a day. The course is offered through the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center and taught by subject matter professionals with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
