The National Domestic Preparedness Consortium, or NDPC, recently celebrated its 20th year of making a substantial impact on the nations preparedness. Since 1998, NDPC training has benefited more than 2.9 million participants in all 50 states and each U.S. territory. A new report details how NDPC training was used during an unprecedented number of natural disasters during FY2018.
Rebecca Tate received the prestigious Regents Fellow Service Award from The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents. She was recognized for her efforts to enhance the nations safety and security by ensuring first responders receive high-quality emergency preparedness training.
The 11th annual TEEX Leadership Development Symposium in Frisco, TX, broke previous attendance records with 1,043 attendees from across Texas, as well as 18 other states and Canada.
TX-TF1 experienced its busiest year ever in 2018, and it is gearing up for what could potentially be another year of significant weather events. The team deployed 18 times last year, including 12 deployments in September and October. The team went on both state and federal deployments in response to severe weather, flash flooding, wild fires, and Hurricanes to include Michael, Florence and Olivia.

Texas A&M Task Force 1 has deployed a 6 team members and two canines to assist in the continuing search of occupied areas that were devastated by the Camp Fire in California.
David Coatney was named Agency Director of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents, and will assume his position on Jan. 1, 2019.
