Course Description

Prerequisites

A photo identification on the first day of class.  See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.  All National Fire Academy (NFA) resident students must complete ICS-100-level and ICS-200-level training before they arrive at the National Emergency Training Center (NETC).  While we prefer that students complete the Q0462 and Q0463 courses available through NFA Online at www.usfa.fema.gov/nfa/nfaonline, we will accept other National Incident management System (NIMS)-compliant equivalent training as provided by state and federal agencies.  The fire chief’s signature attests that the applicant has completed this required prerequisite training.  

Course Completion Requirements

This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion.  During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements.

Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:

• The primary audience for this training includes EMS personnel who have duties involving emergency/disaster scene management at small-to medium-sized incidents (e.g., front line supervisors, street supervisors and shift supervisors).
• The scope of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to manage the medical, EMS, components of a variety of simulated mass casualty incidents (MCIs) using the NIMS ICS.
