Course Description

The goal of this course is to ensure Emergency medical Services (EMS) personnel can make critical decisions effectively during an emergency/disaster by employing the appropriate EMS functions in Incident Commant System (ICS) knowledge, sills, and abilities (KSAs), and decision-making techniques.

Prerequisites

A photo identification on the first day of class.  See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.  All National Fire Academy (NFA) resident students must complete ICS-100-level and ICS-200-level training before they arrive at the National Emergency Training Center (NETC).  While we prefer that students complete the Q0462 and Q0463 courses available through NFA Online at www.usfa.fema.gov/nfa/nfaonline, we will accept other National Incident management System (NIMS)-compliant equivalent training as provided by state and federal agencies.  The fire chief’s signature attests that the applicant has completed this required prerequisite training.

Course Completion Requirements

This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion.  During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements.
