Course Description
Through guided discussions, individual and group activities, the AWR-330 Whole Community Emergency Management Planning Course helps participants identify and better understand the stakeholders and resources within their communities. Students will learn to develop strategies to better incorporate stakeholders into their emergency planning process, with a goal of increasing individual, community, and national resilience to all hazards.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Participants are required to score 70% or better on the Post-Test in order to receive a course certificate of completion.
Participants will need access to a laptop or mobile device/tablet during the course in order to complete course testing and evaluations electronically.
Participants Must Provide
- A FEMA SID is required to register and participate in any training provided by FEMA. The FEMA SID will serve as your unique identifier and be used to maintain the record of FEMA trainings you attend.

- Photo identification at the start of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.
Attendance Requirements
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as component of successful course completion.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Be able to describe how involving the Whole Community into Emergency Management Planning leads to more resilient and better prepared communities.
- Will be able to explain the importance of preparedness activities in the context of comprehensive emergency management planning and whole community inclusive planning.
- Develop methods for engaging all parts of the community and strengthening what works well on a daily basis.
Suggested Audience
This management level course is designed for senior-elected and appointed officials and other stakeholders who may be called upon to make critical decisions during a natural, technological, or human-caused catastrophe. It may also include executives from other community entities, both public and private, that are likely to be involved in disaster response. These include, but are not limited to:

This seminar is fully funded through DHS/FEMA and comes at no direct cost to the jurisdiction, and is delivered at a time and place requested by the jurisdiction.
