Course Description
The Internet (the world’s largest network) allows us to accomplish tasks more conveniently and efficiently at home, work and on the road! However, there are security risks with networks, and users must be aware and remain vigilant about these risks and how to secure their home or small business network. This course will introduce students to the basics of networks for homes and small businesses and provide them with best practices to secure their networks in order to protect their personal information as well as other (friends, family, customers, vendors, etc.) information that may flow through their network.
Prerequisites
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident or receive approval from TEEX/DHS-FEMA prior to the start of the class. Please contact us for more information on the approval process.
Course Completion Requirements
Students must earn a minimum score of 70% on all module post-tests to receive their certificate.
Attendance Requirements
To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.
Suggested Audience
This course is intended for any employee that uses a computer or networked device in the workplace.
