Course Description
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) now mandates that entry-level drivers attend formal classroom training prior to attending behind-the-wheel (BTW) training and taking the Commercial Driver License (CDL) skills test.
This class covers all FMCSA requirements to complete the BTW portion of the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT). This includes all range and road maneuvers.
Prerequisites
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a valid Driver License
- Hold a valid Class A Commercial Learner Permit (CLP)
- Must have completed the ELDT theory portion
Course Completion Requirements
Participant Must Provide
- a photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.
Attendance Requirements
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Utilize knowledge and/or skills to take the commercial driver license test.
- Participants will be able to perform basic maneuvers and procedures on a controlled range.
- Perform higher-level CMV operations on a public roadway.

- Any driver who wants to obtain their CDL.
