Course Completion Requirements
Texas Department of Public Safety Licensing Requirements
Participants must be qualified to operate vehicles of the size and class that carry digger derricks and aerial lift devices.
Participant Must Provide
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Climbing boots
- Work gloves
- Long-sleeved shirt
- A photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.
Attendance Requirements
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Apply American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards relating to aerial devices.
- Identify components of the hydraulic systems used on aerial lift devices.
- Recognize the operating specifications of support systems on aerial lift devices.
- Demonstrate the proper operation of aerial lift devices and associated auxiliary tools.
- Identify safety procedures that must be observed when operating aerial lift devices.
- Explain the preparation required for an aerial lift rescue.
- Explain the procedures for aerial lift rescue.
- Demonstrate various methods of rescue dictated by boom type.
Suggested Audience
This course is designed for personnel who operate bucket trucks, individuals who certify bucket truck operators, and mechanics who maintain and repair this equipment.
