Course Description
This course is designed to meet the needs of the mid-level officer/supervisor and satisfies the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1021 Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, Chapter five “Fire Officer II.” It is designed around classroom lectures and group interactive exercises to improve your abilities to manage multiple fire companies. This includes responsibilities such as strategic planning and operations, personnel development, and organizational communications.
Upon completion of this course you are eligible to schedule the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) exam, should you meet the TCFP requirements. Participants are also eligible to apply for certification through State Firefighter’s and Fire Marshals’ Association (SFFMA).
This course does NOT offer Pro Board certification.
Prerequisites
TCFP Certification Requirements
Participants interested in pursuing certification through TCFP should review their website for requirements.
SFFMA Certification Requirements
Participants that successfully complete this course, can submit their TEEX certificate of completion, along with SFFMA certification application, to the SFFMA office for processing.
Course Completion Requirements
Course Attire
For classroom activities, students must wear full length pants, closed-toe shoes, and short sleeve/long sleeve shirts (no sleeveless shirts). It is preferred that participants wear duty uniform or business casual dress.

- Textbook: IFSTA, Fire and Emergency Services Company Officer, 5th edition
- Laptop computer
- Flash drive
- Basic calculator (independent of your phone)
Attendance Requirements
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend 100% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion.
Recommended
Prior Knowledge
It is recommended that participants have a working knowledge of basic computer function, Microsoft PowerPoint and Word applications, and computer projection equipment.

Annual Fire Training School Registration Requirements
Annual Schools require that you use the online registration system. If you are using a Purchase Order please place the PO number in the PO field for payment. Please know we must have a copy of the PO within 48 hours of your registration or you will be canceled out of the class.

The full rate will be applied after the early-bird registration deadline.
