Course Description

There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Participant must provide:
- Hard hat
- Steel-toed footwear
- Gloves
- Visibility safety vest
- A photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines
Attendance Requirements
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of state and federal regulations for transporting materials over the road.
- Explain truck transport equipment identification.
- Apply trailer transport equipment identification.
- Discuss the importance of identifying load tie-down procedures.
- Employ the proper loading procedures for equipment.
- Employ proper loading procedures for materials.
- Employ load-securing procedures for equipment.
- Employ load-securing procedures for materials.
- Discuss the concept of planning the route.
Suggested Audience
Personnel who have the responsibility of transporting materials and equipment on the highways and interstates.
