Course Description
Prerequisites
Incident Command System ICS-100 and ICS-200
Preferred courses are Q0462 and Q0463, available through NFA Online
Course Completion Requirements
Participants Must Provide
A photo identification on the first day of class. See the TEEX Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.
Laptop or tablet to view student manual and exercises.
Attendance Requirements
To meet NFA attendance requirements, participants must complete each training module and successfully complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and pass the end of course exam to receive course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional requirements.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Describe the basic concept and importance of wellness.
- Describe the wellness program structure that will meet the requirements of a fire/EMS department.
- Explain the typical scope of duty of a department wellness coordinator.
- Identify the functions of the safety component in the management of a Department Wellness Program.
- Identify the functions of the medical component in the management of a Department Wellness Program.
- Identify the functions of the physical fitness component in the management of a Department Wellness Program.
- Identify the functions of the nutrition component in the management of a Department Wellness Program.
- Identify the functions of the behavioral health component in the management of a Department Wellness Program.
Suggested Audience
All Emergency response and public personnel. Those who have a role or interest in planning, establishing, implementing, directing or monitoring a fire or emergency medical service wellness initiative.
