Course Description

Two TEEXans operate their sUAS controllers while a third TEEXan looks on.This 1-day (8-hour) course consists of 2 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of outdoor flights. Designed for the beginner sUAS pilot, this course will educate someone new to flying a UAS on laws, rules, best practices and recommendations.

At our UAS training field on the Texas A&M RELLIS Campus, participants will also perform flight exercises designed to enhance their piloting skills. This will be done using our new, state-of-the-art small UASs.

Why take this course? Proficiently flying a UAS may sound and look easy, but it is not. Every UAS pilot crashes at some point. Participants will learn many valuable techniques to help ensure more safe flights.

NOTE: Classes can be canceled due to inclement weather. Keep informed on the weather forecast for the day of class and be on the look out for advisory emails from TEEX.
