Course Description

After completing this lesson, the student shall be able to describe water supply, methods used to deploy hose, and methods used to advance hose. Students shall also be able to explain how to operate types of hose lines, nozzles, and master stream devices.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

Participant Must Provide 

A photo identification on the first day of class.  See the Participant Handbook opens in a new tab for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines. 

PPE must be NFPA-approved.  See the Student Safety Manual to review PPE requirements for level 4. 

Attendance Requirements

Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed

Essentials of Fire Fighting, Seventh Edition recommended.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:

  • Describe methods of supplying water for firefighting operations.
  • Describe methods used to deploy firehose.
  • Describe methods of advancing hose lines.
  • Differentiate among types of hose streams and nozzles.
  • Explain how to operate different types of hose lines, nozzles, and master stream devices.
