Course Description
After completing this lesson, the student shall be able to explain the importance of fire and life safety programs, fire and life safety surveys, fire and life safety presentations, and pre-incident planning.

Course Completion Requirements
Participant Must Provide
A photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook opens in a new tab for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.
PPE must be NFPA-approved. See the Student Safety Manual to review PPE requirements for level 4.
Attendance Requirements
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Explain the importance of fire and life safety programs.
- Describe fire safety surveys for private dwellings.
- Explain the role of a fire Fighter II with regard to fire and life safety presentations.
- Explain the process of conducting and documenting a preincident survey.
