  • Gray, Peddy tapped for new leadership positions with TEEX

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) has announced two appointments to leadership positions with the agency. Dan Gray has been tapped to serve as the Chief Financial Officer and an Associate Agency Director of TEEX. His promotion was approved by The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents at its November meeting. Ron Peddy has been selected to serve as Division Director for the Infrastructure Training & Safety Institute. Both Gray and Peddy will assume their new duties on Jan. 1, 2012.

Gray will replace John Skrabanek, who is retiring after 35 years of service to the agency. With more than 32 years of service to TEEX, Gray has served as the Division Director of the Infrastructure Training & Safety Institute (ITSI) since 2003. Prior to that, he was the program manager of the Electric Power Employee Development Program.

In 2005, Gray received the Regents Fellow Service Award for his dedication to serving the citizens of Texas as both a teacher and an advocate for safety training. For more than 25 years, Gray worked tirelessly to prevent accidents and injuries, and to improve training in the electric power industry. He also helped to develop mobile units to make utility training more accessible and affordable to workers across the state. During his time at TEEX, he has been credited with taking over the reins of two groups that were operating in a deficit and turning them around into successful operations through positive leadership and sound business practices. He holds a bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University and a master’s degree from East Texas State University.

Peddy has served as Associate Division Director of the Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI) since 2007. Before his promotion, he was the program manager for ESTI’s Environment, Health, Safety & Field Services, where he was responsible for environmental, health and safety compliance at Brayton Fire Training Field, and also served as an instructor in hazardous materials response. Prior to joining TEEX in 2000, he was an Environmental Coordinator in the petrochemical industry, and also had a stint as a high school teacher and coach. He received the TEEX Distinguished Service Award in 2006. Peddy holds a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Houston — Clear Lake.
