Infectious Disease Response Demonstration- MEDIA ADVISORY

COLLEGE STATION – On Saturday, November 8th, the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, Product Development Center (TEEX PDC) will provide an opportunity for media to see demonstrations and hear explanations of skills, equipment and technologies used in infectious disease response including operations utilizing field hospitals, personal protective equipment, decontamination protocols and patient management. Interview opportunities will be provided with TEEX subject matter experts who can give detailed explanations of the equipment and discuss relevant TEEX training and courses. This demonstration is being held for robotics experts as part of a workshop that will help build a foundation of understanding for how medical and emergency responders are currently trained to handle infectious disease and/or medical disasters with discussion of future training, test & evaluation protocols needed to advance global response to infectious diseases.

NECESSARY TO ATTEND AND COVER: All media interested in covering this demonstration must RSVP prior to the event to the TEEX contacts below. Media will be badged and escorted by TEEX staff at all times while on the facility.

IMPORTANT: Media must be checked in before 10am, no late arrivals can be accommodated.

MORE INFORMATION: Media will park in the lot adjacent to the Emergency Operations Training Center (EOTC). Please enter the facility at Gate G (see attached map for specific detail). Signage will guide you to parking. Please note there is a strict 10mph speed limit while on the campus.
