COLLEGE STATION, TX – Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) has welcomed three new Cooperative Learning Center (CLC) sites in Germany and Peru to the list of companies approved to provide TEEX emergency response training to local responders and industrial clients within their respective countries. Two of the new CLCs are operated by Strategic Fire Solutions, which is headquartered in Dresden, Germany, and the other new CLC is under construction in Peru by Suatrans, which is headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The new CLCs were approved by TEEX senior leadership after an extensive and rigorous review process that includes site visits, inspections, observations and safety audits and documentation. This brings the total number of CLC partners to 16 in nine countries, expanding the international reach of TEEX emergency response training and safety to thousands more responders worldwide.
In February, TEEX staff visited the two Strategic Fire Solutions facilities, located at Frankfurt International Airport and Leipzig Airport, to see their Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training in action. The site visit team found the training props and fire simulator mobile units in Frankfurt remarkable, said Brian Freeman, International Training Director for TEEX’s Emergency Services Training Institute.
The Leipzig facility is also first-class with a purpose-built Drager aircraft simulator as well as a training building with airplane mockups, confined space gallery, classrooms and a fitness evaluation center, he added.
TEEX has previously partnered with Suatrans at a CLC facility in Chile, and will add the new site in Peru when it is completed this summer. The Peru site will accommodate industrial and interior fire training, rope rescue, hazmat programs and instructor training, Freeman said.
TEEX now has agreements with Cooperative Learning Centers in: Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru and Puerto Rico.
