Safety and Equipment Rodeo Roundup Double-Header Set for June 11-12

BRYAN, TX – Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and Texas811 will present a safety double-header at the same location – the Texas A&M Riverside Campus in Bryan, TX. On Thursday, June 11, between 1 and 4 p.m., manufacturers will be displaying new roadway safety equipment and products, including the new “Smart Work Zone” applications. The event is presented by TEEX Lone Star LTAP in conjunction with Texas American Traffic Safety Services.

Part two of the double-header begins on Friday, June 12, at 9 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. TEEX Lone Star LTAP will be presenting its first annual Safety and Equipment Rodeo. An estimated 500 attendees associated with transportation, utilities, construction, municipalities, and pipeline professionals will be on hand. This free event will provide safety training, a mock gas line hit, heavy equipment demonstrations, and door prizes.

Texas811 Damage Prevention Manager Jaime Medina says, “It’s vitally important that all professionals who break ground in Texas for any project know what’s down there — and know what to do in the event of a line strike. Knowledge gained in a mock event could very well be life-saving in reality.”
