14 graduate from Online Firefighter Recruit Academy #10

COLLEGE STATION – Fourteen new firefighters graduated from the 10th Online Firefighter Recruit Academy at the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). The graduation ceremony at the H.D. Smith Complex at Brayton Fire Training Field marked the culmination of 335 hours online training followed by an intensive 21-day, 210-hour, hands-on “boot camp.”

The graduates, who are from Canada and the U.S., passed the ProBoard Firefighter I and Firefighter II national exams, and are certified as professional firefighters.

The program is eligible for college credit through the Fire Science Technology degree program at Blinn College and the Fire and Emergency Services Administration degree program at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

The TEEX Online Firefighter Recruit Academy has graduated more than 350 students since the first class was held in 2011.
