AETOS Receives UAS Credentials under Part 107

COLLEGE STATION — AETOS, a member company of MISTRAS Group Inc., has received credentialing through the National Unmanned Aircraft Systems Credentialing Program (NUASCP), a program developed by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and the Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence and Innovation (LSUASC) at Texas A&M University — Corpus Christi.

Based in La Porte, TX, AETOS uses Unmanned Aerial Systems to provide an innovative solution to maintenance and inspection processes for oil & gas, petrochemical and infrastructure assets. The use of UAS reduces or eliminates the need for elevated work, confined space, and hazardous area entries, making inspections safer and reducing costs and downtime.

“With a wide spectrum of operator skills and UAS in the market, our global customers can have a level of confidence that they will not only get high quality data but a safe operation as well,” says Aaron Cook, Unmanned Systems Center of Excellence Manager at AETOS. “Our services are only the beginning, rope access, advanced NDT, API reporting, engineering, and 24-hour monitoring round out all the ways we support our customers.”

TEEX and the Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence and Innovation (LSUASC), State of Texas FAA UAS Test Site, offer Section 333 exemption as well as Part 107 holders the opportunity to receive a 3rd party vetting. The process includes an “Oral” and “Live-Flight” operational audit of all of the company’s operational and safety policies, procedures and qualifications required through the 333 exemption or Part 107 process.

Qualified operators that complete the program are provided with a certificate that serves to differentiate them from other exemption holders as voluntarily enrolling in and satisfactorily completing a program to further demonstrate their ability to safely and effectively operate Section 333 exempted or Part 107 small UAS.
