More than 400 beat the heat at Spring Fire School

COLLEGE
STATION — More than 400 students and guest instructors attended the 29th
Annual Spring Fire Training School on March 5-10. Nearly 360 participants
traveled to Brayton Fire Training Field from across Texas and other states, as
well as Canada, South Korea and Kenya.

Fifteen
courses were offered this year, including popular courses such as Firefighting
Phase I, Emergency Medical Responder, Industrial Exterior Fire Brigade Training
and Wildland Firefighter. Students ranged in age from 20 to 74, and classes
were conducted by TEEX staff members and 52 guest instructors and safety
officers.

The
Spring Fire Training School is conducted each year by TEEX in conjunction with
the State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas. Three
additional Fire Training Schools for municipal, industrial and Spanish
firefighters and emergency personnel are conducted during July each year.
