TEEXÂ’s National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC) will expand its cybersecurity course offerings thanks to a federal grant to five university-based centers that have partnered and collaborated to form the National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC).
Hank Lawson has been named Director of TEEXÂ’s National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC), which is a founding member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium and has enhanced the nationÂ’s preparedness by training more than 450,000 responders in over 10,000 jurisdictions.
The quarterly meeting of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC) drew 66 attendees representing all seven consortium members as well as the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA to College Station on Jan. 7-10.
TEEX recently hosted a visit by Congressional and Legislative staff members, who met with TEEX Director Gary Sera and toured some of the agencyÂ’s emergency preparedness training facilities.

TEEXÂ’s National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC) is leveraging and expanding its competencies in homeland security by partnering with other academic institutions that have nationally recognized specialized expertise and capabilities. These affiliations include the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at the University of Southern Mississippi and the Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security (KRI) at Northeastern University in Burlington, MA, among others.
