TEEX Water & Wastewater continuing ed courses on WaterWorld website

COLLEGE STATION – TEEX’s expertise in water and wastewater training has been tapped by Pennwell Publishing, which called on the agency’s subject matter experts to develop web-based courses for its WaterWorld Continuing Education website.

The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) now has 15 web-based courses to provide continuing education for water and wastewater professionals nationwide. Developed by TEEX instructors in the Infrastructure Training and Safety Institute (ITSI) in conjunction with Pennwell Publishing, the courses are geared toward providing continuing education through relevant and easily accessible educational content.

Each module provides was designed for a national audience and offers 1 hour of professional development through Pennwell. Topics include algae control, metering and flow monitoring, pump operation and maintenance, sampling and field analysis, industrial pretreatment, advanced wastewater treatment, aeration system control and more.

In addition, TEEX water and wastewater instructors have written technical articles for WaterWorld magazine. Authors include James Fischer, who wrote “Establishing an Effective Pretreatment Program” and Mark Goad, who wrote “Introduction to Wastewater Treatment Ponds.” Other articles were written by Keith McLeroy and Jim Chew.
