Texas A&M earns appreciation award
The Texas A&M University System recently received a customer appreciation award for providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Texas Council on Purchasing from People with Disabilities and the Texas Industries for the Blind and Handicapped presented the honor.
The Texas Transportation Institute and the Texas Engineering Extension Service also received customer appreciation awards. The announcement was made Wednesday by Don Barwick, manager of the Office of Historically Underrepresented Businesses Procurement Programs.
Barwick said that the Texas A&M System has made awareness a priority for the past several years and that the award is a recognition of its commitment to purchase products, services and temporary services.
