The nation’s critical infrastructures include not only physical structures, but also organizational systems such as the public health sector, the water and wastewater systems sector, the energy sector, and the information technology sector. Within all these sectors, the Infrastructure Protection Program promotes a culture of readiness and disaster preparedness through courses that support national policy to strengthen and maintain secure, functioning and resilient critical infrastructures. Addressing topics such as threat and risk assessment, risk mitigation, resource investment, preparedness planning, and other disaster management subjects prepares personnel at all levels of emergency and public services operations and critical infrastructure sectors. Security and Disaster Management courses are designed to provide individuals and organizations from both the private and public sectors with the necessary skills to improve and enhance, safety, security, and community resilience in the event of a disaster or emergency situation.
