The National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing (NCTM) at Texas A&M University has rolled out “Introduction to Therapeutics Manufacturing,” an online course developed by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service.
TEEX has received nearly $400,000 of Wagner-Peyser funds from the Office of the Governor for a training program to fill existing Texas manufacturing jobs. The grant will provide entry-level training in welding and CNC (Computer Numeric Control) operation.

Local high school students from across the Brazos Valley attended the inaugural Cyber Centurion Summer Camp offered by TEEX on June 23-27, and designed to introduce the teens to the computing and cybersecurity industry. Another camp will be offered on July 28-Aug. 1, 2014.

The latest release of the easy-to-use FreedomLearn™ Essentials – Learning Management System (LMS)was implemented to match the current style and design of NCTM’s website to provide a seamless experience.
Community leaders in Taylor, Texas, called on TEEX economic development experts to help determine areas of improvement and opportunities for growth. The final report has provided a “road map,” identifying the community’s positive attributes as well as the top priorities for improvements.
TEEX will award 40 full scholarships to area high school students to attend the TEEX Cybersecurity Summer Camp, either June 23 – 27 or July 28 – Aug. 1. Students must have completed 9th or 10th grade to be eligible to participate.
A recent study found a burgeoning demand for skilled workers across South Texas, including welders, pipefitters, CNC operators, quality control (QC) technicians and more. Findings will be discussed at the South Texas Economic Competitiveness Conference on May 6 in Cotulla, Texas.
