Certified Water Professional certificate program launched

This week marks the 83rd Municipal Fire Training School at the Brayton Fire Training Field. More than 2,500 firefighters and guest instructors have gathered from every corner of Texas, as well as many other states and countries.
Texas A&M University-San Antonio (TAMU-SA) and TEEX are teaming up to bring world-class professional training opportunities to South San Antonio. A Safety Rodeo will be held July 23-26 and a Water Expo will be held July 31 – Aug. 2. Both training events will be held at the Texas A&M-San Antonio Brooks City-Base Campus.
The public is invited to a firefighting demonstration on July 25, sponsored by the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) in conjunction with its 83rd Annual Municipal Fire Training School at the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station.
More than 760 industrial firefighters and safety officers are at the Brayton Fire Training Field this week for the 50th Industrial Fire Training School, which continues through July 20. The attendees are members of industrial emergency response brigades and safety officers from some of the world’s largest oil & gas and chemical companies, including Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Conoco Phillips, Shell, BP, Valero, Marathon, Dow, DuPont, Enterprise, Sunoco and more.
TEEX is an education partner in the new Texas A&M Center for Innovation in Advanced Development & Manufacturing, which was awarded to The Texas A&M University System by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and Northwestern State University of Louisiana have signed an articulation agreement that will provide college credit for the TEEX Certified Safety & Health Official™ (CSHO) program and the Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic program.
Twenty students graduated from the inaugural Fire Service Chief Executive Officer (FSCEO) program held in June at the Center for Executive Development on the Texas A&M Campus. The capstone program for fire service leaders is a joint initiative between TEEX and the Texas A&M University Mays Business School.

The Texas Forensic Science Academy (TFSA) at TEEX has received a $425,000 training grant from the GovernorÂ’s Office, Texas Criminal Justice Division. The grant will allow TFSA to deliver 27 tuition-free courses to over 540 crime scene investigators across the State of Texas.
